Ireland's Call - "Ireland's Call" is a song used in international rugby union matches, and is played when the Irish rugby union team is playing. The rugby team represents the whole island of Ireland (both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland) as "Amhrán na bhFiann" (A Soldier's Song) was deemed inappropriate, both because it is the official national anthem of the Republic and because it is has a militant Nationalist theme unacceptable to Northern Irish Unionists.
Simply The Best - "Simply The Best" was a hit for Tina Turner in 1991 and became the theme song of the British world champion boxer Chris Eubank and also the anthem of Rugby League in Australia. The advertising campaign brought a lot of interest to the game, and the campaign reached a height when Turner appeared at and performed the song at the 1993 ARL Grand Final.
Bruces' Philosophers Song (Bruces' Song) - Bruces' Philosophers Song (Bruces' Song) was a popular Monty Python song rendered in their stage shows ostensibly by a number of cod-Australian university lecturers. They were all called Bruce and taught at the University of Woolloomooloo.
This Is My Song (1967 song) - This Is My Song was originally composed by Charlie Chaplin as the instrumental theme for his 1967 film A Countess from Hong Kong, starring Marlon Brando and Sophia Loren. When he added lyrics, he decided to offer the song to Al Jolson to record, unaware the entertainer had long been deceased.
